Pervez Musharraf, the former President of Pakistan, passed away in Dubai after a prolonged illness

The former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, who also served as a General in the Pakistan Armed Forces, passed away at a hospital in Dubai on February 4th, Sunday. He had been battling a rare disease called Amyloidosis for several years. At the time of his death, he was 79 years old.

His death was widely reported by international news outlets and a statement was issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) offering their condolences. The statement issued, “May Allah bless the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family.”

Amyloidosis is a collection of uncommon and severe disorders caused by an accumulation of a peculiar protein named amyloid in various organs and tissues throughout the body. This buildup of amyloid deposits can hinder the proper functioning of the affected organs and tissues.

Pervez Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943, in Delhi, India to a family with a background in diplomacy. During his childhood, he lived in Turkey from 1949 to 1956. He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 and received training at the Army Command and Staff College in Quetta. He also went to the Royal College of Defence Studies in London for further studies.
